Athletic Sports, 23/12/2016

An Athletic Sports has been organised at Dagapur Tea Estate Ground, Siliguri. Workers about 70 Tea-Gardens of North Bengal Region took part in the said Athletic Sports. About 2400 workers and their wards took part in the Athletic Sports. Welfare Commissioner, West Bengal Labour Welfare Board distributed the prizes to the successful candidates.

Carom Competition, 04/11/2016

A Carom Competition has been organised at Patulia Model Labour Welfare Centre, North 24 Parganas. 40 heads took part in the one day long Carom Competition from nearby Industries of 24-Parganas (North). The prize was distributed to the winner and runner-up by the officials of the different industries and Officer - on - Special Duty, West Bengal Labour Welfare Board.

Labour Welfare Day, 2016, 20/09/2016

A Labour Welfare Day, 2016 has been organised at "Rotary Sadan," Kolkata on 20/09/2016. Hon'ble Minister -in- Charge, Labour Department, Government of West Bengal & Chairman of the Board and Hon'ble Minister –of -State, Labour Department, Government of West Bengal & Vice Chairman of the Board graced the occasion as Guest-of –Honour. Besides, Mr. Partha Pratim Bhaumik, Welfare Commissioner, Mr. Aziz Rasul, Additional Labour Commissioner and Mr. Pachu Roy, Hon’ble Member of the Board attended the programme. Cheques for scholarship/stipend were distributed by the respected guests among the beneficiaries. A cultural programme has also been performed by the members of the different Labour Welfare Centres on that occasion.

Football Tournament, 23/07/2016

Football Tournament of the North Bengal Region has been organised through the different Labour Welfare Centres of North Bengal. 80 Tea-Gardens took part in the tournament. The semi-final and final games were played on 23/07/2016 at the ground of Dagapur Tea-Garden. Janab Zakir Hossain, Hon'ble Minister –of- State, Labour Department, Government of West Bengal & Vice-Chairman of the Board grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Welfare Commissioner was also present in the programme and distributed the trophies to the winners and runners team.

Volleyball competition, 30/06/2016

A Volleyball competition was organised at Durgapur Model Labour Welfare Centre. Five companies participated in the competition. A large number of spectators enjoyed the total tournament and prizes were distributed to the Durgapur Steel Plant as winner.

Quiz/Debate Competition, 23/06/2016

The programme of Quiz/Debate Competition held at Belur Model Labour Welfare Centre, Howrah. About 60 participants from neighbouring industries took part in the programme. Prizes were distributed amongst the successful participants.

May Day, 2016 (North Bengal), 22/05/2016

May Day, 2016 (North Bengal) was organised at Regional Office, Siliguri of the West Bengal Labour Welfare Board in a very solemn and modest manner to commemorate the day. Deputy Welfare Commissioner and other officials of the Board were present in the said programme.

Due to promulgation of code of conduct rules for ensuing General Election the observance of May Day programme could not be organised in a large scale as in the previous years.

May Day, 2016 (Head Office), 01/05/2016

May Day, 2016 was organised at Head Office of the West Bengal Labour Welfare Board in a very solemn and modest manner to commemorate the day. Welfare Commissioner and other officials of the Board were present in the said programme.

Sit and Draw Competition, 22/02/2016

Sit and Draw competition was organised at Gourhati Model Labour Welfare Centre, Hooghly. 100 participants from different industrial houses of Hooghly zone took part in the programme. Officials of Management from different local industries and trade union leaders were present at distributed the prizes to the winners.

Athletic Sports, 29/01/2016

Athletic sports was organised by Labour Welfare Centres of South Bengal including Durgapur zone at the ground of Bidhan Nagar Municipal Complex, Salt Lake. Hon'ble Minister-in-Charge, Consumer Affairs’ Department, Government of West Bengal inaugurated the sports events and received the Guard-of-Honour by the participants. About 1300 participants took part in the said athletic sports during the day. Smt. Soma Biswas, Eminent sports personality and Sri Sujit Bose, M.L.A. of Bidhannagar attended the programme as Hon’ble Guest. The Welfare Commissioner and the special guests distributed the prizes to the winners.
